Voters across Indiana delivered a landslide for the Democratic slate with a near total ticket win. Final tallies show Kerr edging his Republican opponent by 17 votes. extensive county results reveal Democratic gains across Congress Prosecuting Attorney and other local offices.
Fry Bryant longtime Fountain County figure died at his son’s home in Herford Texas after health declined for two years. He served as Fountain County clerk and had been deputy county clerk in Warren County and worked in the U S Treasury. He was a Civil War veteran with sons James Robert Charles and two daughters Mrs V E Livengood and Mrs Frank Luke. Funeral held in Covington with interment in Williamsport cemetery.
Frank McAllister of the Hillsboro area displays a new snow white field mouse variety with red eyes. He says the breed is abundant locally and not found elsewhere, noting they closely resemble the tame white mouse but are nearly twice as large.
Miles A Ratcliff a prosperous farmer east of town married Miss Addie A Howell at the bride's mother's home Saturday night at 8 o'clock Rev A H Rauridan officiated. Both families and friends extend best wishes for a happy wedded life.
Roy Lindley traveled to Illinois to husk corn on Tuesday. La Vera Sanders visited from Brazil over Sunday visiting relatives. Mrs B O Hudler visited relatives in Attica Tuesday and Wednesday. Mrs John Eberle called to Pine Village Tuesday due to a relative illness. Miss Ora Eberle went to Pine Village Friday to visit relatives for a few days. Mrs Clara DeVerter returned to Crawfordsville today after a short visit with relatives. A baby girl Nellie Stott Bowsher was born Nov 4 to Mr and Mrs Hilly Bowsher of Richmond Virginia.
Hillsboro man Joe Crane about 40 was struck by an eastbound Clover Leaf train Saturday near Mellett Win gate while returning home in a wagon. His horses died, the wagon was demolished, Crane was found 20 feet away and taken to Wingate physician with serious injuries, and his recovery is uncertain.
At Rev J D Maris residence in Rockville Miss Maude Lindley of Bloomingdale wed Hershal Todd of near Tangier on November Sth. About 60 guests attended a three course supper of oysters soup pie coffee cake and fruit. The couple plan to live with the groom's parents and begin life together with warm wishes from friends.
State Food and Drug Inspector John Owens from Indianapolis visited Hillsboro Thursday morning. He ordered a restaurant owned by John Goodwin closed for cleaning and fined him 10 dollars plus costs 16 dollars after lenient judgement by Justice Seldon McBroom. Inspectors warned E A Linsley to cover dried fruit clean floors and cuspidors. Bottled pickles and catsup in several stores were condemned along with flour weights. J W Tinville Co William Lyons and George W Berry praised for store cleanliness while Dwiggins meat market was found perfectly sanitary.
A county committee selected Veedersburg as the site for a single spring graduation ceremony for all graduates. Supt Livengood has secured Gov Thus. RR Marshall to deliver the principal address, aiming to inspire eight grade pupils to graduate. A large class is anticipated.
