Miss Inez Toowell visited relatives in Danville Saturday. Rev. Pliny Cox traveled to Greenup to conduct a camp meeting. A. H. Dickens went to Indianapolis to check on his seriously ill sister, Mrs. Mattie Poppin, in a city hospital. J. M. Wright and family plus friends were in Attica and Williamsport Sunday with Clyde Moore driving.

Bubble Route rail work and claims aftermath in Kingman

A morning crew tore up rails at the east terminal near Geo Orahood's before planed use to Kingman. The Harry Benjamin Equipment Co ordered five cars from C E I to load steel for shipment to Ft Smith Ark, via Missouri. Many labor and bond claims yielded small payouts, workers endured long hours, and Kingman is said to share the loss while remaining hopeful.

Veedersburg Horse Show Promises Royal County Event

The Hub in Fountain county hosts a major horse show tomorrow expected to attract a large crowd. Kingman and south Fountain will send many entrants while local residents plan entertaining, premium lists attract horsemen for prizes. Veedersburg band provides music all day and evening, promising a grand time.

Wants Saloon at Coal Creek in Wabash Township

George Hermling announces in the Veedersburg News that he will apply to the commissioners at their July session for a license to conduct a saloon at Coal Creek in Wabash township. The area is not yet dry unless an election or remonstrance changes status. Temperance supporters are expected to oppose the license and move to make the township dry.

Wa Renick was in the county seat on business yesterday. E S Booe returned from Bloomington where he attended the commencement. Two announcements were overlooked last week the arrival of a big boy at Frank Maris and wife and a fine girl at Mr and Mrs Earl Marshall both babes arrived on the 14th.

Williams Fugitives in Family Mistreatment Case Near Yeddo

Deputies and State's Attorney pursued Joe Williams, charged with mistreatment of his 16 year old daughter Zola Williams. Williams fled but was later found hiding in a barn and arraigned in Covington before Judge Schoonover. The case looms as a sensational matter for the fall term.

Amanda Jane Sines born near Covington Indiana on April 23 1874 died June 18 1911 aged 37 years 1 month 25 days She married Samuel C Sines on August 23 1892 They had two children Ralph Samuel and Helen Mary Ralph died at 11 Helen at 6 and her husband mourn her loss She joined the M E church at 25 and lived by its teachings Funeral was held Wednesday at the M E church in Yeddo with Rev Toggle Veedersburg officiating and burial in Centennial cemetery

Kingman Faces School Building Condemnation Crisis

County health officer Hicks condemned the old Kingman frame school and took the key, forbidding use after July 1 1911. Repairs may be needed on the brick building, though not condemned. Abandoning the school corporation could shift to township control with a shorter term unless a wider agreement is reached.
