Murderous Fire Attack Near Rockville Reported
Three men assaulted Claude V. Crooks at New Discovery near Rockville around 10 pm Saturday then set the two story farmhouse ablaze. Crooks was knocked unconscious and left in a burning stairwell. robbery appears unlikely as gold currency and a gold watch were found among the wreckage. Authorities have no solid leads or arrests yet.

Boy Hurts Thumb in Barn Pulley Accident
Carl Thompson six year old son of George Thompson and wife of Attica suffered a serious hand injury while visiting Lewis Bannon two miles north of Wingate. He caught his hand in a pulley at the barn end of the rope used for the hay fork, tearing the thumb tip and lacerating three fingers. Dr. Allhands treated him.
