Kingman to Have New Post Master Victor Named
La Vernon Cory, a young Democrat, is reported chosen to succeed Chas. F. Smith as postmaster in Kingman. Cory scored the highest in the examination with a ninety three and three fifths percent. The move may occur around September 1 and Cory plans a new brick or cement post office building on the vacant McAlister-Jory lot, with his father possibly joining in.

Death of Miss Grace Tinkey in local community
Miss Grace Tinkey died after a brief illness at age 34 near her mother Mrs. Jacob Mole, with funeral services held Wednesday morning. Chas. Fisher and Pearl Keerns made an unusual timber discovery while digging a well for E. M. Cox, finding a barked log fragment 23 inches long buried in hardpan at 14 feet 9 inches.

Passes 103d Milestone for Grandmother Elizabeth McCoy
Mrs Elizabeth McCoy aged 103 celebrated with a large family gathering at her home with 61 relatives and friends at dinner and 116 attending in the afternoon. The elder stateswoman, the oldest in the region, enjoys good health for her age and is honored annually by kin and neighbors.

Fountain County Wins Indiana Corn Growers Contest
Fountain County won the Indiana Corn Growers Association membership contest with ninety three paid members. The top counties were Tippecanoe with seventy seven Johnson with forty six Madison with thirty seven and Lake with thirty five. A trophy will be sent to Fountain County officials and another may be offered in 1915 to boost state wide membership.

Restaurant and Bakery Sold in Indiana Deal
J. R. Gambril traded his Kingman restaurant and bakery to Rev. Hole pastor of the Pine Village Christian church for a forty acre farm near Bloomington Indiana. Rev. Hole sold it to J. W. Canine of Crawfordsville who has placed his brother in charge for the present. Gambri built up a good business and many friends regret his departure with plans for the future unsettled.

Republicans to Open Their 1914 Campaign in Veedersburg
The 1914 Republican campaign opens with a large meeting at Veedersburg on August 26. Special trains will carry delegations from Kingman Attica and nearby points. Arch M Hall and Fred S Purnell will speak with bands providing music. Trains depart Kingman 600 PM and Attica 700 PM stopping at Yeddo Rob Roy Aylesworth and Stone Bluff. Doors open 730 PM with anticipated large crowds and motor delegations from county areas without rail service.

Norman Lancelot Ewbank was born August 3 1912 and died August 9 1914 at age two years and six days. He was the youngest of six children of John and Ruby Ewbank.
