Knights and the Church Explain Knights of Labor Attitude
A long exposition outlines Cardinal Gibbons interview and Vatican views on the Knights of Labor. It notes the church’s cautious but supportive stance if the order remains lawful and free of secrecy or extremist acts, with praise for Powderly and warnings against anarchist associations. References to Catholic officials, the Pope, and U.S. bishops frame the church’s public position and urges adherence to constitutional order.
