A description touts Kimbal as the best located town in Brule County near the center of the county and in the heart of prime farming and stock country. The claim rests on the region’s magnificent crops from recent years.
Kimball sits on the Main Line of the Chicago Milwaukee and St Paul system four miles west of Mitchell and twenty two miles east of Chamberlain. It hosts a school building church post office two banks two hotels a large grain elevator and ample material for another plus lumber and blacksmith shops livery stables and assorted stores. The text notes strong investment inducements to grow the town.
The Brule County Agricultural Fair Grounds adjoins the townsite and is described as one of the best fair grounds in the Territory with a good half mile track.

The Dakota Episcopal convocation met at the Getheomane church in Fargo with Bishop Walker and clergy from Fargo Jameston Pembina and Wahpeton. A committee was appointed to arrange legal organization of parishes and church property. Evening addresses urged better clergy salaries and a planned educational institution.
The Dakota Democratic congressional delegate convention met in Sioux Falls under D. M. Inman. Charles H. Price was temporary chair, with B. Palmer as secretary. They elected permanent officers, debated central committee structure, adopted platform resolutions, and named candidates Wilson and Taylor for delegate with Wilson later unopposed by acclamation.
