An Aurora informant recalls a morning call from a brother in law and Mrs Bowles returning from the Pacific coast. A farmer in Livermore telephone-arrested and pleaded guilty via messenger, while a basketball note urges Plankinton and Chamberlain teams to organize soon and improve play, with Kimball mentioned.

It can be ordered for six cents postage. The piece also cites declines in Dunns and Bradstreet listings and cautions that most people aged sixty five rely on others for support while many ventures fail.
Excursion via Chicago Milwaukee and St Paul Railway departs Kimball at 6 am Wednesday May 27 offering a grand picnic, concerts, hurdle and foot races, balloon ascension, a Sioux Falls versus Bluffs baseball game, and free ball game admittance for excursion ticket holders. Round trip from Kimball $2.25. Tickets available from the railway agent.
The Wabash Railroad offers several round trip rates from Chicago to eastern cities. Bellefontaine and back seven dollars thirty nine cents, Boston round trip eighty two one forty nine, Saratoga seventy six forty six, Detroit six dollars seventy five. Tickets valid May 29 to June 3 or July 1 to 6 depending on destination. Routes may include steamer transfer between Detroit and Buffalo with no extra change, meals and berth included. Stopovers allowed.
The spring Texas cattle shipments to the eastern market have begun. By Friday evening 160 cars passed through Mitchell with 100 more expected. Cattle from Bovina and Pecos owned by Holt Cox and Elliott are small and thin. They are bought in Texas at low prices and sent north to fatten for the eastern market. Cattle are unloaded at Sioux City and switched to Milwaukee cars after a brief feed and branding. Many head are lost en route due to crowding and trampling. Three special trains, about thirty cars each, passed through Friday and two more were expected. Two engines per train are used to maintain speed.

An old advertisement touts DeWitts Witch Salve as a fast cure for bleeding itching and painful piles. It warns buyers to ensure Witt's salve is purchased, claiming it heals without leaving a scar, with P.E. Miller as the seller.
Department notices indicate final proof required for settler claims in Chamberlain South Dakota with named claimants including William Clements Daniel P Roberts and Chas L Brogkak to establish continuous residence and file testimonies before the receiver at Chamberlain South Dakota on a stated date.
An examination of all who completed the eighth year of the state course of study will be held at the school house in Pu on June 5 and 6.
