Westminster School opens with 216 enrolled at graded school
A large gathering of patrons and pupils assembled at the Westminster graded school for a celebratory opening. Rev Geo Horton and other local leaders spoke on education while J S Carter awarded two medals for best improvement and best scholarship. Several residents arrived or departed on visits as the community organized classes and planned an all day singing at Chauga Baptist church. The first annual dividend of ten percent was declared by the Peden and Anderson Banking Company.
