Death of Capt. Samuel Hunter in Florida
Westminster reports Capt. Samuel Hunter died November 17 in Meridian Florida at age 75 after fourteen weeks of illness and a paralysis attack. A Confederate veteran and former elder of Retreat Presbyterian, he lived with daughter in Florida and earlier farmed and taught near Westminster. Genera Lee praised his gallantry in the Civil War.
