Fraternal Insurance Order Lose License to Solicit
South Carolina Insurance Commissioner McMaster revokes the license of the Improved Order Heptasophs to seek new business. The Walhalla based Oconee Conclave No. 827, with 71 members and about $80,000 in insured value, faces scrutiny over disbursements and certificates. The decision cites failure to allow proper valuation and access to records, amid debate on state intervention in fraternal insurer matters.
