We finished a ten day sale that was a regional record and sold about half of our stock. Leftover odds and ends will be sold regardless of price. Heavy contracts for cotton goods and shoes last fall forced the sacrifice sale to free space and raise funds. We open every day with our best bought merchandise yet and expect a spring record. Watch us.

A letter from Columbia dated February 12 argues the dispensary law stirs state-wide concern over corruption, drunkenness, and costs. It alleges liquor spending nears 3.5 million yearly and urges Tillman to debate the issue publicly, framing the fight as sobriety against influence peddling. It notes Miss Mary Sheldon’s visit and praises women’s college representation.
