Victory for Mr Lever Advances Forest Reserve Bill
Washington reports that the House Committee on Territories agreed to report the Appalachian and White Mountain forest reserve bill, enabling a $1,000,000 appropriation on July 1, 2009, with a related $2,000,000 annual sum. Majority report expected to be presented to the House by Representatives Tovar and Weel, with a vote likely by Monday or Tuesday. The effort reflects strong support and key lobbying by Mr Lever to secure the favorable report and eventual passage. The note credits Lever's persistent work and the coalition that backed the bill.
