Killed by Policeman Attaway in Central restaurant
John T. Werner, 37, son of a Southern Railway engineer, was shot three times by Chief of Police Attaway in a Central restaurant. Werner died at once. Attaway surrendered to Sheriff Jennings. Coroner's inquest returned a verdict that the death was at Attaway's hands. Werner had been arrested earlier and released on a trivial charge.

Mrs Bradley Acquitted In Utah Senator Slaying Case
The jury found Mrs. Bradley not guilty in the case over the killing of United States Senator Brown of Utah. A cheer erupted in the courtroom as the verdict was read at about 10 this morning. Mrs. Bradley left the courthouse for the home of Mr. Hayes, a friend, while jurors prepared a second ballot showing eleven to one for acquittal. The second ballot was completed around midnight.
