The Beaverdam Baptist Association convened at South Union church for its annual meeting. Rev. J H Stove moderated with J J Harlo as clerk and James Seaborn as treasurer. About twelve hundred attendees enjoyed hospitality, ice water, and communal fellowship. The 1907 gathering will be hosted by Union Springs Baptist Church in Anderson County.

Lynchors Get Sentence of Fifteen Years
George Tall a cotton mill operative convicted of conspiracy in connection with the Salisbury lynching of three Negroes. He was sentenced tonight to a form of four more years in the state penitentiary. This appears to be the first strong conviction of the kind in the state, despite prior efforts to bring members of the mob to justice.
