Local businessmen sought a park around the new Keota depot. P H Brennan and D W Bradley of Sterling inspected the site and agreed the railroad will install two hydrants and fencing materials. Keota residents will grade plant and maintain the park, starting with an 80 foot wide strip at the east end and widening to 120 feet toward the water tank.

Names include George Schoonover Clarence Moon Herbert Poush Joe Shuber Clyde Cottrell Warnie Cottrell Hugh Irwin Arthur Rhead armer John Hobbs and Mrs Hobbs who will head Keota headquarters at Windsor. Many others from Keota joined fellow workers to towns with sugar factories or to finish beet contracts or help move beets from farms to loading stations.

Briggsdale residents A. M. Jones and Harry E. Calvin walked from Denver last Friday to Briggsdale then to Keota, covering seventeen miles in five hours. Jones, a Civil War veteran, could do it faster, while Calvin carried a suitcase. Calvin, from twenty five miles northeast of Keota, returned Saturday to finalize his homestead proof before Commissioner Griffin.
