Keota High School Class of 1918 Graduation Held

The Class of 1918 marked Keota High School’s first graduation with exercises at the Methodist Church on Thursday evening. A full program featured salutatory, orations, music, and diplomas presented by Rev. Gray, with social events including a Junior to Senior banquet at the church.

Atwood Man Buys Keota Land

J. F. Dilley of Atwood Colorado bought 400 acres of Keota land from Rev. Jubing of Windsor for 96000. The tract, once part of the Bert Markham and Julius Kier homesteads, lies two miles southwest of town. It had been sold to Peter Elic of Windsor who sold it to Jubing two years ago when he left for Russia. The deal was brokered by Jos A Painter of Keota and Hock about Wells of Fort Morgan.

Closing Big Land Deal In Keota By J A Sanders Buyer

W. J. Simms and I. S. Griffin traveled to Sterling on business Monday. They completed arrangements for what may be Keota’s most significant real estate closing, involving ten quarter sections held by eight owners with titles verified as perfect. J. A. Sanders of Sterling, formerly Fleming banker, has opened the Commercial Savings Bank there and buys the Keota land after several days of survey work.

Keota Scouts Enjoy Pine Camp and Community Events

Keota community notes report Scout Master Harry Greene and helpers leading a Monday pine camp eleven miles north, with scouts sleeping in pines and returning for school. The Pegg school closed with exercises and a surprise party for teacher Miss Strickland, who then left for Campion Colorado. Local business and Red Cross activities are noted along with several visits and a new church dedication planned for June. A baby girl Catherine Mary was born in Vinton Iowa to Oran G Markham and his wife. For sale: 320 acres under Wild Horse ditch offered by George M Harris Denver.
