About thirty five men attended a Keota M E Church meeting Monday to discuss local issues including road improvements and county division. A similar gathering is planned for next Monday.
The four high schools Raymer Buckingham Keota and Grover form a working league to contest basketball baseball tennis debating track and declamatory events. The year’s champion will be the school with the most points and the largest total wins. Debate crowned at Keota with Buckingham Raymer Grover matchups and teachers exams set for March 17 18 and 19.
Colorado banks report total deposits of 296 million on December 29 1920 down from 319 million a year earlier while loans stood at 219 million up from 211 million. The state shows better loan to deposit balance with farming counties reducing loans and investing in equipment and buildings.
The Grover team clinched the last game of the season in a hard fought contest. First half ended 10 11 with Grover ahead, and the final score stood 17 34 as their opponents pulled ahead late. Star players delivered standout totals for Grover.
The Buckingham Bank claims were authorized by Neil Graham last week to pay creditors about ninety percent, with expectation of full settlement in time. A holding company led by B. Johnson of Creigh Nebr. formed to take over the bank’s remaining assets after its December closure.
