Enthusiastic Keota community meeting establishes the Pawnee County Club to advocate forming a new Pawnee County. Officers named John Owens president and others. Two legislative bills expected to define county boundaries, with support from Graves backers and local petitioners.

Rep Gilcrest lands Agriculture and Irrigation and near head of Appropriations plus State Institutions Public Buildings Railroads Elections and Appointments. Rep Graves heads Counties and County Lines with a slate including Green Colgate Damewood Humason Scott Staley Norvell Counter and others and also serves on Banking.

Stanley attended the Colorado Editorial Association meeting and the legislature session with Governor Carlson inaugural events. The Literary Society hosted a strong meeting and a promising debate on military disarmament. The Help One Another club stitched a quilt with music from local players. Mrs Jennie Woodward left Keota after a visit with her son. Bill Longaker moved to the High Tower area to farm. Lincoln property offered for exchange for deeded land or relinquishment. Keota Ladies Aid plans a meeting with Mrs H E Rhoadarmer, with good attendance expected. Mrs Rhoadarmer and sons returned from Farnham Illinois.
Weld County commissioners fixed the 1914 tax levy at 1.4 mills above 1913 with distinct funds and raises listed. State 1.39 mills for $105,746.29. general school 0.55 for $41,842.06. general county 1.9 for $152,152.95. contingent 0.10 for $7,607.65. courthouse 1.00 for $76,076.47.
About sixty neighbors gathered at Hughey Irwin’s southwest of town home on Saturday to welcome him back from Windsor Colorado. They danced and played cards then enjoyed a bounteous luncheon before departing around 11:30 p m. Some guests say Hughey was truly surprised by the reunion.
