At the call of Louis Allen a meeting will be held January 27 at 2 p m in the Keota F and M Hall to discuss the financial situation and plan financing for 1921 operations. School boards and community organizations are invited to send representatives.
A meeting of wheat growers in F. and M. Hall heard J. E. Miller of Brighton outline a National Wheat Growers Association plan to market the county crop at a fixed price based on production cost plus profit. The local group elected M. L Haworth president Hughey Irwin vice president L. A Bailey secretary and I. N Wood W. S. More directors with a $2.50 annual fee.
I E Hartman the optician will visit Buckingham Hotel on Wednesday January 26 and Keota Hotel on Thursday January 27 between westbound trains. Bring children for free examination. Stop headaches quiet nerves clear vision. All work guaranteed.
The A B Dendinger residence near Hightower school burned last Friday afternoon, unknown cause. Dayton T Braden family occupied the home and lost most personal effects. neighbors collected money and goods to refurnish them at their new Denver home. The house was insured for 700 dollars.
The Keota Town Team and the high school squad played Monday evening at the school house before eager supporters. The game stayed tight with the final half score 23 26 in favor of the High School. The first league game is set for tonight at Raymer.
The Baptist church lists Sunday School at 10 a m with preaching at 11 a m and 8 p m. A young people's meeting is at 7 p m. All are invited to attend. H T Legrand is the pastor.
A series of Sunday visits and gatherings across Buckingham are noted. Elmer Elsworth and family and James Trumbo visited the L. S. Poush home. relatives hosted by the Littrells foresee a golden wedding anniversary. A children’s party organized by Mrs. Zabel featured a Christmas tree and refreshments.
Will Easton a 15 year old from Pine Bluffs Wyoming stole a saddle, silver spurs, a Navajo blanket and rope after staying overnight at the J L Filer ranch seven miles east of Keota. He rode off with the gear but was tracked by Mr Filer and C F Becker who recovered the items and sent him back. Easton claimed to have worked on a cattle ranch at Irwin.
