Tom Bucher was seriously injured at the Buckingham track meet when a spectator accidentally threw a shot put and hit him in the head. He has since recovered.
The M. E. Church youth hosted a pie social in the church basement last Tuesday. Contest winners for cracker eating were Kenneth Lenhard Marguerite Dodder and C. E. Andrews. Pies were numbered and matched to owners. proceeds totaled about $18.
The Musical Club met Friday night at the R. B. Hemphill house with Misses Mary Hemphill and Ida Chooge. They practiced new music and played games including a bird riddle using twenty pinned jingle papers with prizes for correct guesses. A lunch of ice cream cake and sandwiches was served. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Moon and Evelyn Jane Sterling visited the Schoonover home en route to Cheyenne.
Foeston School teachers Miss Mary Haworth and Mount Hope teacher Miss Beulah Forney led pupils in a Friday event at Mount Hope. Debates on immigration policy were followed by plays titled Unexpected Results and Whos a Coward. Mount Hope won the track honors led by star Louis Taylor. A basket dinner welcomed neighbors Pawnee and Sunny Ridge Schools.
Reverend Miss Rhoda Jane Dickinson former pastor of the Methodist Church here receives a call to the First Congregational Church of Glasgow Montana and will be ordained at the annual meeting in Glasgow May 10. Attendance doubled under her pastorate with over forty new members received. She lectured to college girls during Lent and visited Missoula Bozeman and Billings Polytechnical Institute.
Mr Plum leader of Greeley Boys and Girls Clubs and Miss Allen from Fort Collins Agricultural College led a Saturday meeting at F and M Hall to organize corn sewing and poultry clubs. Herman Strasser named corn and poultry club head. enrollment started Monday. Seed corn to be Minnesota 13 with Rhode Island Reds as the poultry breed. Members will plant about an acre each and raise pure bred chickens.
Alden Currie entertained a gathering to mark his second birthday last Monday afternoon. Invitations invited friends and mothers including Boyd Edward and Mrs Olson Alden LaVance and Mrs Tyler Junior Mary Nada and Mrs Oram Curtis and Mrs Foley Russell and Mrs Markley. The children played with toys and enjoyed cream candy all-day suckers pink ice cream and birthday cake with pink frosting and red candles.
