Letter From Russia Reveals War Hardships and Stamp Value
John Helm of Keota received a registered letter from Pred Allmer of New Rohrbach Russia dated March 9. The envelope carried 120 stamps each worth 250 and possibly copecks. Helm estimates 20 rubles needed to retrieve the letter about 150 dollars today. He sent his uncle a 15 food draft and others in the district aid relatives in the old country amid shortages.

Debate Champions Crown Weld County High School Title
Viva Russell and Martha Wat enpaugh won a close debate at Keota by one point over Vedya Barte and Edith Hopkins. In Windsor the Keota negative team Oren Bridwell and Helen Winterbourne defeated Roy Clark and Clarence Swedman by the same margin, sealing the Weld county high school debating championship for K. H. S.
