Holmes County Pageant Planned With August Dates

An organization to chronicle Holmes county history plans a centennial in 1933. A kickoff meeting of community chairmen is set for July 12 at Castalian Springs, with a county wide pageant to be staged August 23 or 26. August primaries loom in congressional and highway races

Voters face a July 7 registration cutoff to participate in August state and district primaries and the November election. Mississippi will hold two state primaries this fall, not four, with the August 28 congressional primary and a possible second August primary. Lexington Theatre to Open Under New Management July 1

The Lexington Theatre will begin new management on July 1 with E. B. Williams of Grenada as manager and FE W. Tyson as lessee. Tyson, manager of the Lyric Theatre in Greenwood, announces a policy of latest releases at popular prices and improved programming. Admission will be 25 cents for adults, 10 cents for children, and balcony prices for colored patrons. Williams will act as team leader, with no personnel changes expected. The Advertiser issues this week carry the program for patrons.
