A woman confessed to buying a gallon of whiskey for seven dollars and bottling it in soft drink containers filling seventeen bottles sold at one dollar each for a ten dollar profit. Gertrude was jailed in Lexington pending the trial before Judge S. W. Alford at Croger this week.

W H Wallace oversees the rural home deliveries, expanding routes as roads improve and demand grows, with stores and homes along the routes the main customers.
Sam Herrman Jil Dale Victor Sam ple and D M Powers returned safely from a four state tour through South Mississippi Alabama Georgia and Florida covering 2720 miles. They traveled via a northern route and Herrman shares details of places visited while Powers promotes a new venture.
The Lexington Baptist church hosts Zone No 2 W M U ladies from Lexington Tehula Beulah Antioch Harlands Creek West Pleasant Ridge and Cruger for an afternoon gathering July 11 at 2 oclock. Mrs J F Williams and zone chairmen outline programs including devotionals stewardship and mission study and urge all women to attend the group meeting at the church auditorium.
C. O'Bindon of Pickens was a visitor in the city Sunday, staying for a short social call and inspecting local sights.
In a dusty Sunday showdown near the Brotherhood Bible Class HQ, Captains J F Williams and J R Williams led Ford and Chevrolet crews as 66 check-ins yielded a 86 to 31 edge for Chevrolets. The feature seeds training for finals with top Lexington pilots, as Capt. J R Williams touts improved gearing and speed, while Capt. Josh Williams pledges readiness for tougher tests.
