Producers Warned As Dead Line Nears
R T Kimbrough, chairman of the county committee, warns Holmes county cotton growers who have not submitted origin records to prove their production. Records must be sent to the state office by July 1st. The county office aids producers but cooperation is needed. County agent Williams notes a May 23 letter urged submission for timely benefits.

Norman Weathersby Named Jaycee Pres
At a Lexing ton Junior Chamber of Commerce meeting on Monday night officers were elected for the coming months starting July 1. Norman Weathersby was chosen president with Wilburn Hooker as first vice president and W Allan Ramsey as second vice president. J H Warner was re elected treasurer and directors named include W E Thurmond Pat Barrrett Ed Holloman Eugene Herrman. Townsend remains secretary and will likely be renamed. The Jaycees note they are debt free since 1933 and will unveil further projects soon led by president elect Weathersby. Edwin White will be program chairman at the next meeting.

Mississippi eyes rising weevil damage as State Plant Board reports 103 of 122 farms across 28 counties infested. On 78 large-squared fields, average 17 percent infestation, up from 7 percent last year and 2 percent in 1936. Delta and eastern Mississippi hit hardest. grasshoppers also visible in the Delta. Farmers hope heat and cultivation offset the harm.
