Ables Released In Trial Held Tuesday For Hale Killing
Henry Hale of the Settlement near Tolarville was shot and killed Saturday night by Wilda Ables. Marvin Ables and his wife were returning from a neighborhood party when Hale attacked them. Marvin fired in self defense. A preliminary hearing was held Tuesday in Lexington and the court ruled justifiable homicide, discharging Wilda Ables without bail. Hale was a family man. the incident occurred near his home.

Holmes County 4 H Club encampment will be held at Castalian Springs on July 18 19 and 20. An educational program under the Extension Department of the R and College will be given daily with activities for both boys and girls including games plays swimming and boating. The training of boys and girls for leadership and community service is the purpose of the 4 H Club program and such encampments are valuable in developing latent talents.
