Baptist Revival To Start Sunday June 12

L A Carey state compliance supervisor of the Jackson office led a six county school of instruction at the Lexington court house to prep for the 1988 farm program. More than fifty attended listing county agents and conservation reps from Madison Humphreys Yazoo Holmes and others with many Holmes county names noted. Preliminary work begins Friday with field work starting Monday and each worker operating in their own community. The cotton sales record of 100 bales is under review awaiting subsidy payment details.

Two Local Boys Waive Hearing On Bonds
Sheriff Walter Ellis and deputies recovered Marion and Lowrey Steele in Jackson after they were arrested early Sunday for taking Deputy Fire Marshal Bob Lay’s automobile from in front of the Blue Lantern on Highway 12. Roosevelt Howard, found with them, was released after investigation. The Steeles waived preliminary hearing and posted $600 bonds to appear before the grand jury on grand larceny charges.
