Unusual Chicken Said to Have Extra Wings in Durant
Ed Richmond of Durant reports a chicken he owned near Owens Wells that allegedly had four wings two on the body and one on each leg. The rooster was thriving but its future condition with extra wing spread is uncertain.

Joe W Latham Chosen County Chairman for USO in Holmes County
Joe W Latham has been named county chairman for the United Service Organizations in Holmes County and will announce a county committee soon. The USO unit will operate with state and national bodies to solicit funds for soldiers in camps nationwide, coordinating recreation and other services under a single fund.

Thirty seven Seniors Receive Their Diplomas
Graduation exercises at Lexington High School on Beall Athletic Field honored 37 graduates, with Edith McDaniel delivering the salutatory and piano solo. Hon. Edwin White gave the baccalaureate on defense of America. Diplomas were handed by B S Beall Jr. Prizes were awarded to Elizabeth Byrd, Billy Carty, Malcie Phillips, and others, with Rotary Club presenting as part of the ceremony.
