Battery B Embarks For Camp Blanding
Battery B 114th Field Artillery ninety strong leaves at noon Tuesday December 17 for annual training at Camp Blanding Florida. Inducted from Mississippi National Guard November 25 the unit has undergone primary training at the local armory. The battery travels in its own motorized trucks via Jackson and the Mississippi coast to Florida. Camp Blanding lies near Starke. Minnie Jordan Appointed Temporary Clerk After Death
Miss Minnie Jordan, deputy circuit clerk for 15 years, named by Governor Paul Johnson as temporary clerk to replace the late J. D. Weeks who died Wednesday after 29 years in office. She will serve until a successor is chosen by the Board of Supervisors at the next meeting. Jordan expressed she will be ready for the office.
