Ford introduces two V type engines for 1937 with an improved 85 horsepower version delivering strong speed and economy on gasoline. A new 60 horsepower V-8, paired with Jin five body styles, provides a lighter, lower priced model with reduced operating costs. The V-8’s smooth power remains evident up to 70 mph, setting a new standard of economy in modern motor car operation.
A new design emphasizes a wide roomy car with low center of gravity and flowing curves. Features include a distinctive front end with recessed headlamps, a back-hinged hood, an all steel top, tailored interiors, and a V type windshield opening across body types.
All steel body with a complete steel frame. Panels top sides and floor welded into one unit for protective strength. Safety glass used in windshield and all windows at no extra charge.

At Lexington Lodge No. 24 in its hall on December 14, officers were elected for the coming year. Worshipful Master elect Povall named Shanks as Senior Deacon. Installation is set for January 11. Col Hernan D Money, 68, died at his Wanalaw home near Lexington after months of ill health. Funeral was held at Evergreen Cemetery in Carrollton, conducted by Rev. Jones. Money, son of late Sen Hernando Desoto Money, was a lawyer and former colonel in the Spanish American War with a career in both law and government service in the Americas.
Mrs. Minnie L Beall postmaster announced the post office will be open Saturday afternoon December 19 to handle Christmas packages and general mail. The office had been closed on Saturday afternoons with no window service. The change aims to ease the Christmas rush.
W. C. Downer of Emory visited Lexington on business and shared farm notes. He plans to kill 11 Poland China hogs soon and said he has lard enough to last until next June and meat for months more. In 39 years of marriage he has never bought lard or meat for farm needs.
