Hugh I. Cowsert dies after week of illness
Hugh I. Cowsert 58 of Goodman Holmes county died at Community hospital Lexington after a week with pneumonia. He led Goodman and Waidenxin companies, was a major local farmer and active in politics and civic groups. Funeral held at Goodman Baptist church with interment at Hillcrest cemetery. Survived by wife Bertha, son Hugh J. Cowsert Sr., daughter Mary Elizabeth, father G. L. Cowsert, three brothers and a sister.
