Ford announces two V-type engines for 1937, the 80-horsepower version delivering quick acceleration and unusually low fuel use, and the 60-horsepower option available in five body styles. A new design features a wide rounded car with a low center of gravity and flowing curves. Distinctive front end with recessed headlamps, back hinged lid-type hood, all steel top sweeping from windshield, tailored interiors, and a slanting V windshield across closed body types.
The 1937 Ford uses an all steel frame and body with welded construction forming a single steel unit. It features safety glass in the windshield and all windows at no extra charge, emphasizing enhanced protection over wood-based designs.
The Easy-Action braking system promises dependable performance and a soft pedal feel. Ford's new brakes use cable and conduit control with self energizing momentum to aid braking. Tests show about one third less pedal pressure needed to stop the car.
