Square To Glow With Christmas Lighting
Plans completed for annual Christmas lighting on the public square. Merchants and businessmen have funded the installation by Mississippi Power & Light Co. Lights will glow from the courthouse dome to the four corners with streamers and four trees in the courtyard. Reggie Williams and George Patterson with Scott Fowler organized fundraising. work to begin soon.

Louisiana Man Hurt After Pickens Crash
V. M. Mahr prominent official of the T. S. C. Motor Freight Lines Inc of Alexandria La was brought to Community Hospital in an unconscious condition following a car wreck just north of Pickens where the highway meets the north city limits. He suffered a severe head injury and was later reported in serious but improved condition. Mrs Mahr and her son V Mahr Jr were in town with him along with his brother Ted Mahr of Monroe La.

City Delivery Gets First Official Okay
Mrs. Minnie L Beall postmaster reports the Post Office Department has referred free city delivery for Lexington to the Chief Inspector for further inquiry. A survey of delivery territory will determine routes and areas including walks, with two carriers and a truck for heavy packages. Plans aim for at least two deliveries daily.
