The Holmes County Teachers Association schedules a meeting at Lexington on Saturday December 9. Farm Loan Checks Arrive As Applications Grow In Holmes County
The Federal Land Bank of New Orleans reports early loan checks totaling 9 614 dollars issued locally with two received. Appraisers have worked in Holmes County, four admins visited to inspect properties, and about 225 applications totaling nearly 400 000 dollars await approval. Christmas Pageant at Presbyterian Church Pageant
A Christmas pageant will be presented at the Presbyterian church on Sunday morning December 10 at 11 o'clock to support Christian Education and Ministerial Relief. Members received little red socks for offerings, with full socks expected. Participants include W. A. Holmes County CWA approves road and school projects
At a Holmes county CWA meeting, 4.1 miles of road grading and graveling from Lexington toward Ebenezer was approved for 4321. The action also funds Durant, Coxbury, Bethesda, Holmes Junior College, Tehula and West schools with total amounts listed. An ant control campaign was approved as a federal project totaling 1782.66, not drawing from CWA funds. Several schools including Emory Cruger Center ville Ebenezer and Lexington were returned for revision of labor and material costs.

L. E. Parkinson of Harmony reports a proposed drainage and straightening plan for Jordan Creek extending about 8 to 10 miles from its mouth at the Big Black river. Morgan Weeks assists. 26 to 30 farms will be affected boosting land values and reducing backwater pools and flood overflows. Estimated cost around 6000 dollars. work could employ about 50 men for three months under CWA funds with landowners ready to sign quit claim rights.

Baptists Pay Church Debt and Interest Due
