Lie detector tests cleared Mrs. Eva Clark of criminal implications in Cecilia Lemay disappearance. District Attorney McCauley said Lemay's statements showed 10 or 12 discrepancies, shifting suspicion to Lemay’s husband Edmond.
The remains of Flight Officer Irving R. Victorson a Kenosha airman killed on his tenth mission over Germany will arrive in Kenosha Tuesday morning from the Chicago Graves Distribution Center for final interment. Victorson son of Axel Victorson 6605 5th Ave graduated Kenosha high school 1942 enlisted July 5 1943 trained at Jefferson Barracks Big Springs Texas commissioned bombardier September 1944 overseas January 1945 based in England and France killed April 2 1945 survived by father sister and not survived by mother died 1947.
Edwin G. Pinkham, 72, longtime Kansas City newspaperman and author, died Sunday. Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, he built a notable career in journalism before retirement.

Stephana from Windber Pa. and Hitchcock, a polo figure, anticipate a lavish ceremony with family members attending.
Kenosha County veterans led July reinstatement and conversion of National Service Life policies with $866 000 in value. Plan Miller says 145 reinstated totaling 685 500 and 60 converted totaling 180 500, with Milwaukee and Wisconsin totals also reported. Reinstatement rules require a medical exam if lapse exceeds three months.

A routine check revealed she was transferred from a German hospital in the U S sector to the Russians on September 6.
New York report says hurricane winds struck Bermuda at 11 15 am EDT. The storm center was about 60 miles southwest of Bermuda with the system moving northwest. Estimated top winds near the center reached 140 miles per hour and hurricane force extends 60 miles from the core.
Daylight burglary at Dr. V. R. Ozanick’s residence 7772 7th Ave. netted $150 in cash from a window entry between 1:30 and 3:15 pm Sunday. Thief opened two second floor bedrooms, took $55 from a bank book, $75 from another, $15 from a billfold, and $5 from a dresser box. trunk pried but untouched. Investigation ongoing.
A mid September sun sent temperatures into the nineties across the state. Menomonie recorded 96 ties the all time September high along with Milwaukee at 92 and Green Bay at 91. Darlington stayed cooler at 85 and Madison reached 88 as winds from the north and northeast moderated readings near the lakes.

Former New York Yankees star Julian Wera 38 killed himself in Oroville California using sleeping pills. A protege of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, Wera debuted at 16 with a homer off Walter Johnson, building a noted early MLB career in the late 1920s.

Clarence Ketterhagen a 48 year old Brighton farmer died at Kenosha hospital from injuries from a fall off a porch at his home. He suffered internal injuries last week and was hospitalized on Friday. He was born in Burlington on April 22 1902 and married Ursula Weis on April 27 1925. He is survived by his widow three sons Donald Clarence and Eugene and daughter Elizabeth, along with his parents four sisters and five brothers.
Hibok Hibok volcano on Camiguin Island erupted late today ending a two day quiet period. Officials from the social welfare commission reported renewed worse activity as relief efforts continue. The eruption follows nearly two weeks of eruptions that killed five people and forced 45 000 natives to evacuate.
