Driver Dies When Auto Rolls Over Southwest of Kenosha
Felix Dye a 38 year old Waukegan motorist died after being ejected as his car rolled over near Kenosha. He suffered severe head injuries and died at Kenosha hospital about 5 p.m. The crash raised the county highway death toll to 32 for the year. Two other occupants were thrown clear. James Garret 49 of Zion Illinois was injured with cuts and possible fractures while John Parker 35 of Zion had no injuries. Parker said a car from the opposite direction blocked them causing a swerve and loss of control. The car veered onto the shoulder rolled about 100 feet in a ditch and ended inverted. Dye’s body was found 80 feet from the wreck. Parker was thrown 30 feet from the vehicle. Dye worked at Fenton's Service Station in Zion and is survived by his widow Betha and daughter Mrs Marvin Franks along with two brothers.

The weather bureau forecasts partly cloudy and warmer conditions for Tuesday’s election day. Overnight and Tuesday will see a few scattered showers in the extreme north. Combat Men in Korea To Have Body Armor

Vessel Sinks, 425 Saved in Alaska Shipwreck
The Canadian Pacific Lines vessel Princess Kathleen ran aground 3:15 a.m. a mile and a half off Juneau in a wild sea. Coast Guard rescue saved 425 aboard as the ship sank later that day in 90 feet of water 18 miles north of Juneau after abandoning ship.
