Over Labor Day weekend sheriff and police logged nine injuries from six accidents and two property damage incidents in the county while the city reported three accidents with one injury. A 6:48 am county crash on North 22nd Ave involved Andrew Bush and Marvin J. Wirtz, sending Bush’s car into a ditch and into an apple tree. Bush and Charles Mickelson were hospitalized.

Local Accidents Reported Near Kenosha and Genoa City
Sheriff deputies continue to report a series of weekend crashes. A southbound collision crowded a cyclist off the road as a car cut in. Grahm and Stahl cars on Highway 31 collided with injuries to Graham’s passenger and to deputies noting the incident. A second crash on Highway 42 left Walter Pritchett with concussion and cuts after Barnett’s passing maneuver caused the Pritchett car to flip into a ditch and tree. Jean Lowe, 19, was treated for shock after missing a curve caused by fog while John H. Lindahl Jr. drove on toward Genoa City. Deputy reports credit Sikora Molinaro and Bastrup Chartier with responding to the incidents.

Car auction follows state halt on Labor Day raffle
Wilton Wisconsin residents watched as an automibile raffle prize intended for a Labor Day picnic was sold at auction after the state beverage tax division halted the award. The car fetched 2450 dollars as the Community club sought refunds for ticket buyers. Bid well Tillman, club president, said the raffle was prohibited by the state anti gambling law and the organization was determining reimbursement methods.

Robbery at Fontana Club Nets $3000 in Lake Geneva Area
Fontana Beachcombers club in Elkhorn Wisconsin was robbed early today of about $3000 by three men. Two entered the Fontana tavern armed with a revolver and a sawed off shotgun while a third waited in a car. Proprietor Otto Malecek handed over the safe takings and fired at the getaway sedan as it fled, possibly a 1949 maroon Ford. Sheriff James Cusack described the suspects and the red or maroon car.
