A group of five friends from Hurley were in a car driven by Pickera and four died in a Wisconsin drownings incident. Survivors include 17 year old Edward Schenk in critical condition at Elk Horn hospital. A second suspect was released pending further investigation as police traced a trail from an open north window to a forced safe compartment and a bedroom stash containing about $12000. Investigators found $500 in small bills, coins, a missing $5 check and a razor, while noting other valuables were untouched. The burglar fled after a 5:15 to 6:30 am window of opportunity and a 5:30 am mass. The case remains under active inquiry with multiple leads being pursued.
