Train Smashes Stalled Auto Near Crossing

Conductor H A Witzke Arlington Heights Ill reported Sommer waved as the train could not be stopped in time. Avery Kelley 24 of 5308 31st Ave was fined $10 and costs in Municipal Court for driving without a license on March 27.

Richard Taube Dies After Short Illness at 43
Richard D. Taube, 43, of 6514 3rd Ave., died Sunday morning in Oshkosh after a three month illness. A Kenosha native born May 4, 1915, he served in World War II with the 623rd Medical Clerk Co. and later in the American Graves Registration service. He worked as an auto mechanic with Dolan's Garage and Johnson Tire Co. He was a member of the Kenosha Bowmans.

Alvin Bistline age 71 of 1802 Sheridan Road was killed Friday in a city traffic mishap. Born July 8, 1887 in New Germantown PA he was a World War I veteran with the 58th CAC Battalion. A laborer for local contractors, he belonged to the American Legion Paul Herrick Post No. 21 and Building Laborers Local 237. He had no known immediate survivors.

A trio of Chicagoans two women and a man are in police custody for questioning about stealing three suits from an Uptown men's store. A car without license plates led officers to Hy 174 and County Trunk Q where three new suits were found.
