Israel Admits Nahalin Attack Local Affair

Premier Moshe Sharett acknowledged Israeli responsibility for an attack on the Jordanian village Nahalin near Bethlehem. He framed it as a local reaction to a Jordanian assault on an Israeli town, saying the force was not large and combat lasted about 14 hours. Jordan reports 9 Arabs killed and 17 wounded. Four Killed In State Auto Crashes Over Weekend

Four people died in Wisconsin car crashes over the weekend. Alfred Delgadillo, 15, of Waukesha, was killed Saturday when his car failed to negotiate a curve on Highway 56 east of Genesee and overturned. Mrs. William Jeschke, 35, of Milwaukee, died from injuries after a three car collision involving her husband’s car on Friday night. Marvin Larson, 34, of Madison, died Sunday in a Dodgeville hospital from injuries from a Saturday night crash when he reportedly lost control. Julius Greeneveld, 69, of Unity, was killed Saturday when a car skidded on Highway 13 and struck him in the village.

Slippery Roads Hit Kenosha After Five Inches Of Snow

Snow totaling five inches fell in Kenosha by noon making roads slick across southern Wisconsin. Temperatures ranged from 23 to 27 at various sites with a Sunday high of 45 and a night low of 21. Rainfall reached .05 inches. Forecast calls for partly cloudy and cold tonight and mostly cloudy with snow Tuesday, highs near 20 to 25 and lows around 8 to 15.

A five inch snowfall by noon made Kenosha roads very slippery while drifts were shallow enough to avoid stalled vehicles. A three car city crash occurred and highway crews started plowing at 9 30 a m local time with city crewspreparing earlier as snow continued.
