The San Francisco quake caused a road entrance to Harding Golf Course to crumble and toppled buildings. Crowds watched tremors as aftershocks swayed structures, injuring thirty and leaving widespread but mild damage across the city.
Eyewitness accounts describe a sharp tremor near Edgemar and Daly City with cars driven off cliffs and ground cracking. Dennis Fahey fled his car as the coast highway slid toward the Pacific, while Herbert Luders dodged rocks and watched the road buckle. Arthur and Marguerite Reagan felt the tremor from the southern outskirts.
Informed sources say Emil J. Nelson will succeed George Reisimer as Wisconsin director of internal revenue on May 1. Reisimer retires at age 70 on April 23.
