A two story eight room home on Hy 50 west of County Trunk B was leveled by an early morning fire. Mr and Mrs Lautel Sautel were the sole occupants and both were displaced with about 2000 dollars in uninsured furniture lost. Mrs Sautel pregnant and in shock was taken to Kenosha hospital after a fall while calling for help. Firefighters from Silver Lake and Salem battled the blaze amid strong winds with the cause under review and Red Cross aiding the couple with housing and groceries.
