A 5 foot 5 inch, 145 pound unmasked man described as a “little bitty guy” robbed the Pewaukee State Bank Brookfield branch at 2:30 pm tying up 12 people before escaping with 7500 dollars. He spoke by phone with a bank official and forced four others to help. He warned the manager and cited a time lock delaying the vault.
Britain and Jordan formally terminated their 1948 alliance today and pledged to withdraw British forces from the Middle Eastern country within six months. An exchange of notes released today said the two nations aim to preserve peaceful and friendly relations.

The Kenosha school board approved a six week secondary summer program for all students to make up deficiencies or take advanced work. Classes run 8 am to 12 noon at the high school with about 20 students per course. Tuition is 20 per course and full year credit awarded on passing. Registration May 13 to 17 with interest cards May 6. Open to parochial private and外 city out of town students if space allows.

U S Navy planes comb the Western Pacific today for a U S Air Force KC 50 tanker with 10 crew aboard missing after fuel ran out. A four man Air Force medical team parachuted to a mountain site near central Japan near an area believed to be the C 47 wreckage.
New Delhi authorities advanced a campaign to curb alcohol exposure by banning all alcoholic beverage advertising in the capital. The move targets public health and aims to reduce consumption. Environmental and social groups support the crackdown.
The Wisconsin Senate passed a standing vote of confidence for Sen. William F. Trinke amid bitterness over a Legion bill to bar subversives from public buildings. The resolution, co authored by all senators, defended Trinke’s integrity and denounced guilt by association claims.
