About 7,000 city voters and a few hundred county residents are expected at the polls for the first of four 1956 elections. Mild weather and a strong slate of city candidates could lift turnout, the spring primary being the heaviest in an even year since prior cycles. Voters will drop three of nine council hopefuls and three of seven school board contenders from the ballots.
