Chapple Files Partial List Of Delegates
Madison publisher Chapple filed a tentative list of nine at large delegate candidates for the Republican National Convention and 18 district delegates. He said three more names would be filed before 5 p.m. to complete a 30 name slate. The slate supports a pro American anti Soviet policy and reflects Taft McCarthy Knowland Jenner MacArthur ideals. Organizers of the Eisenhower slate held an informal meeting in Gov Kohlers office with Reps Laird Byrnes and Davis and Yerly. 23 of 30 delegates expected to be present for filing before the deadline. The slate includes Kohler and other state officials and carries Eisenhower issued ballot papers.
