Racine Fisherman Drowns in Lake Michigan
The body of 52 year old James C Bertelson of route one Sturtevant was recovered from Lake Michigan near Racine Saturday afternoon. Coroner Bernard Evanson said the death would be listed as death by own action by drowning.

A 27 year old Zion Illinois man Earl Eugene VanCleve drowned in Lake Michigan near Alford Park while visiting Kenosha. Navy sailors Tom Beyer and Edward Miller with two Kenosha surfers performed CPR for about ten minutes before paramedics arrived.
