readied for a full day celebration honoring World War II veterans from Kenosha and Kenosha County. Preparations have been underway for weeks with final checks confirming readiness for the gala event tomorrow.
Since the Tuesday Welcome Home tabloid published the community’s World War II honor roll two more names have been added George Charles Brent and Herbert A Peacock. The tribute details are published to accord them due recognition.
The Kenosha Celebration association urges the public to attend the homecoming events as a show of gratitude. Highlights include an 11 a.m. parade and a 2 p.m. Washington Park Bowl program with a tribute, as announced by General Chairman Ralph S. Kingsley.

Names: Peter Bruno, Tony Russo, and Ralph Gallo. Detected by Kenosha police, six duffle bags of army shirts blankets and GI gear were found at a filling station. Turner from Rockford admitted ownership of the car and clothing and was later arrested in Rockford.
Hans Kempka testified at the international military tribunal that he saw Adolf Hitler lying dead in the Reich Chancellery on the afternoon of April 30 1945 and helped carry Eva Braun’s body outside for cremation. He also said Martin Bormann was killed by a bazooka blast and could not have survived.

Senator O Daniel abandoned blocking tactics to move two price control extension bills in the Senate Banking Committee. The measures would extend the OPA life to July 20 while Congress works on permanent rules. Signs of party splits and mixed support from Democrats and Republicans surface amid veto‑related tensions.
Felix Olkives was elected chairman of the Kenosha County Community Fund campaign committee at a Tuesday meeting of 111 members at the Kenosha Youth Foundation. The drive will focus on supporting local welfare agencies with a goal aligning to past Patriots Fund campaigns.
