The Small Business Administration will hold hearings next month to set size standards for SBA aid. A spectacular fire at Charleston Naval Base in South Carolina spread along a pier after two explosions. The Navy reported six men missing and four injured, with the building demolished and three Navy personnel among the missing. The facility was a degaussing station used to demagnetize ships to prevent magnetic mine detonation.
New York publisher Holt Rinehart and Winston names retired Air Force leader General Nathan F. Twining of Monroe Wisconsin as vice chairman. Twining served as chief of staff of the Air Force beginning 1953 and led the chiefs of staff from 1957 until his retirement last September.

Abilene Texas two bodies were found after the death of Dr. William G. Buchanan a 31 year old chiropodist and his 2 year old son James Ross. A physician said Buchanan likely suffered a heart attack during the night and rolled onto his child while recovering from pneumonia.

A 6 year old girl with a heart condition abducted from a farm labor camp last Thursday was found in a field. The suspect is the husband of the kidnapper who confessed through his wife, locating the body in open rangeland about half a mile north of Highway 466, roughly 60 miles northwest of Bakersfield.
