Edith Williams, a 66 year old blind woman, says she married W C Fields in 1893 when she was 13 and seeks a share of his 8 million dollar estate. She alleges he used the name Billy Ward on a marriage certificate and that she was taken as Tillie Johnson, with a later estrangement in 1910 in Galesburg Illinois. Williams appointed Chicago attorney Victor Neumark and Los Angeles attorney Samuel S Zagan to pursue the claim in Los Angeles.
