Allemande Square Dance Club plans a New Year Eve dinner dance at the Union Club. Limited to 50 couples with a few openings. Reservations via M. J. Stielow. Non members invited. Following a smorgasbord dinner, guests will dance with Dan.
A festive column by Ottie Bruno and Vince Zarletti wishes readers a joyful Yuletide season and thanks customers of Victory Cleaners. The page also notes a new beginners dance class by Allemande Club starting Jan 9 with Elmer Williams as tutor and a brush-up dance session. Residents of South Kenosha and the Carmelite Home will be serenaded this evening with Christmas carols sung by pupils of Victory School. School principal Mrs William Jeranek and teacher Mrs Howard Holger will accompany the youngsters. After caroling, the children will be treated to a barbeque at the school. An annual district wide Christmas party will be held Tuesday evening at Victory School. Greg Gallo and the University of Wisconsin Men s Glee Club joined two other groups for the campus Christmas Choral concert.
Weekend weddings united Kenoshans in ceremonies at St George rectory Berea and Kenosha Bible Church with couples from Cleveland Elyria Huntington and Chicago. Notable couples include Luella Luetkens and Julius Vines Adelbert Gorham and Louise Horn and Betty Moore with Chester Wolfe. Guests from Norfolk Moundridge Wheeling Worcester Green Lake Racine Milwaukee attended.
Priests and sisters of St James parish attended the St Ann Altar Society Christmas gathering in the school gym. Baby clothes for the Pope's storehouse in Rome were donated. Officers for the coming year were announced, and reporting on summer projects were shared. Robert Mitchell of Eaton Manufacturing attended a UW conference on plant meetings.
Mr and Mrs Francis Fairchild of Johnson City New York announce the engagement of their daughter Frances Louise to LeRoy Nohling son of Mr and Mrs David Nohling 7531 23rd Ave The wedding is planned for January 23 Frances Louise a University of Rochester nursing graduate also attended Boston College LeRoy Nohling earned a bachelor of science from the University of Wisconsin Speech and is pursuing a masters through Boston University on a WGBH TV scholarship
The Over-Sixty Club held its ninth annual Christmas program at the Sheridan Road Shelter House on Saturday. Otto Bacher served as narrator for a cantata style tale while the chorus joined in readings with carols. Roseanne Anthony and Sandra Neurenberger accompanied on accordion and guitar, with a short concert and community sing concluding the event. Club president Bill Stuemke handed out gifts as refreshments and games followed.
