Allied court sentences 22 Buchenwald attendants to death
An American war crimes court in Dachau sentenced 22 Buchenwald camp attendants to hang for Nazi atrocities. Five others received life terms including Ilse Koch widow of the late camp commander. Resurfacing Plans Expanded for U.S. 41 and Related Routes
Kenosha County officials report state authorities approved extending the Highway 50 resurfacing project to add two miles toward Silver Lake Road. Emergency stop gap work on the west lane of Highway 41 will widen and repave a narrow 18 foot ribbon to reduce accidents from Racine county line to Highway 42. Experimental contracts may test alternate approaches on the east lane. A bituminous surface is also being added to Highway 31 between 50 and 43, with traffic reduced during work. Two Kenosha youths sentenced for forty larcenies
In juvenile court Judge W W Davis committed a 14 year old to the Waukesha Industrial School for Boys and placed a 13 year old on two years probation after confessing to more than 40 larcenies. Arrested by detectives Boswell and Zavacki the pair admitted burglaries at Peter Pirsch’s home and other thefts including mail box robberies and stealing from cars since June 6. The older youth has a prior record with six arrests dating from 1944. the younger had no police record.
